Piping at The Royal Liverpool Golf Club

It was a privilege to be asked to play at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club’s Sesquicentennial Foursome Challenge and Dinner . I played between 7pm and 8pm marching up and down the 1st Fairway as over 300 members and VIP’s arrived for dinner. Lots of people came and had selfies taken with me and a fair few international guests told me they’d never seen a Scottish bagpiper before and how impressed they were. It was also heartening to see locals in the distance watching with their children. Thanks to club secretary Simon H. Newland for the following feedback after the …

Piping in Ibiza, again!

Myself and fellow pipe band members Steve Plumb and Dominic Cronshaw had the privilege of being hired to play for Struan Marshall’s  (Steve Gerrard’s agent) 50th birthday celebrations at his and Anelli Marhsall’s beautiful villa in Cap Martinet, Ibiza. Two years ago Steve and I played for Struan and Anneli’s wedding anniversary there so it was a huge honor to be invited back . We got changed and tuned up at our hotel. Dominic played a few tunes outside the hotel whilst we were waiting to be picked up. Within seconds a crowd of locals and hotel guests surrounded him …

Folk Session at the Huntsman , Thurlstone

I had a great time playing my Fred Morrison Reelpipes at a folk session at The Huntsman, Thurlstone last week. Other musicians managed to jam along to the tunes I played and it sounded fantastic. I ended with ‘Shores of Erin’ and ‘The Gravel Walk’ which got the entire pubs attention. …

Martyn and Jordan’s Wedding in Dubrovnik

I recently had the fantastic opportunity of playing the bagpipes at a wedding in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Martyn and Jordan’s wedding took place at the Sponza Palace in the Old Town. I played as guests arrived and was immediately surrounded by tourists and locals asking questions and taking photos and videos. The pipes sounded fantastic as the sound bounced off the walls of the old town buildings. The groom’s dad stood next to me most of the time and was highly emotional.   Once the guests were all seated I then went to the Ploce Gate to meet Jordan and I …
