what areas do you cover?
I’m based in Stocksbridge, Sheffield so I’m well located for events in Sheffield, Chesterfield, Leeds, Wetherby, Harrogate, Halifax, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Pontefract, Rotherham, Doncaster, Glossop, Stockport, Manchester, Oldham, Nottingham, Derby, Lincoln Bakewell, Buxton, and Hull.
are you scottish?
I am half Scottish. My mother is from Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. She moved to Birmingham with her parents at a young age and eventually met my dad . I was born and raised in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
do you have pli insurance?
Yes. I am fully insured.
will you be performing in scottish attire?
When booked for any event, I always perform in full Scottish (or Irish tartan if required) attire unless I’m advised otherwise.
What tartans do you wear?
I currently have Royal Stuart, Brown, Mackenzie, American Universal and Diaspora (Irish) tartans.
Do you require a deposit?
I charge a non-refundable deposit of £30 for any dates booked more than a month in advance. This can be paid via BACs, Cheque or Paypal.
When is the final balance due?
I’m happy for the final balance to be paid anytime before the event or on the day in cash (preferably when I arrive).
Do we need to meet before the event?
Generally this isn’t necessary. Everything can be discussed over the phone or email. For funerals I always liaise with the funeral directors and for weddings I can liaise with event organiser if required to do so.
what tunes will you play?
I have a vast repertoire of traditional and contemporary Scottish and Irish music. I usually play a selection of medleys suitable for the particular event. I am happy to take requests as long as they are tunes suitable for the highland bagpipe.
what happens if you are unable to attend?
In the highly unlikely case I have to cancel, I will always do my best to offer you a suitable alternative .
