I am a bagpiper based in Deepcar, Sheffield and therefore I’m only 15 minutes away from Grenoside Crematorium. I am frequently asked to play the bagpipes there for funerals and usually I will meet the hearse at the gates and lead the funeral cortège to the relevant chapel. At the chapel I can play a tune as the coffin is carried into the service and then several tunes at the end of the service. I find that because the pipes are so loud it is best that they are played outside.

As Grenoside Crematorium is very local to me, I offer a very reasonable rate. I’ve worked with many funeral directors in Sheffield and I’ll always liaise with your funeral directors prior to any booking to make sure everything runs smoothly on the day.  I can advise on what tunes are suitable and I am happy to learn any tune requests that I don’t know. The most popular tunes for funerals are:

Highland Cathedral

Amazing Grace

Flower of Scotland

Flowers of the Forest

The Mist Covered Mountains

Skye Boat Sound

Loch Rannoch

Kilworth Hills

Green Hills of Tyrol

Abide With Me

The Dark Island
